Garo Receives Seal of Approval for On-Site Traineeship Program Excellence
Garo has recently received the seal of approval for its qualified support for the initiative “Alternanza Scuola- Lavoro” (work-school alternation), endorsed by the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities, and Research. Since 2015, the Ministry has started promoting work-linked training experiences for students during their last three years of high school.
This has created a meeting point between schools, students, and companies, which are always looking for talented young people. In particular, this initiative allows students to put into practice the theoretical knowledge acquired in the classroom and, at the same time, better understand their attitudes. It is also a great way to help students with the decision of choosing future courses of study or work.
On the other hand, companies have the great benefit of encountering fresh young talents, who can give their support, new ideas, and perspectives. However, companies also have the responsibility for stimulating and nurturing these talents, besides letting them learn something from this experience.
In this, Garo was able to distinguish itself inviting 10 students from January to June and redistributing them in different departments on the base of the course of study they came from. In particular, some of them were involved in the daily activities of our Engineering Department, discovering what it means to create a custom designed system around Garo compressors. Others were collocated in the Procurement or HR departments getting the chance to understand how a company is managed.
Garo is highly satisfied with the initiative and it will give its support again over the next months. Moreover, the seal of approval is a more than welcome achievement, which stimulates the company in continuing on this path and which, once again, confirms Garo’s commitment to Human Resources initiatives.
Garo HR Manager commented the initiative as follows: Bringing students into the reality of Garo was, and continues to be, a stimulating activity that I fully support.
We at Garo consider the initiative of “Alternanza Scuola-Lavoro” an important moment of sharing which must give benefits to both the student and the company. This is why we contribute to the initiative with enthusiasm: students are followed by qualified Tutors and each of them is individually involved in a tailored project with "true" work activities.
Garo lives the “Alternanza Scuola-Lavoro” project as a really useful and training experience that allows the company to get in touch with potential young talents. At the same time, it allows students to test in first person the world of work, the very same world that will await and welcome them after the school.
